The Garden Route by Campervan: Route Ideas, Campsites, and Hidden Stops

We did Mossel Bay to Storms River over 8 days. Wilderness lagoon was a highlight, and the farm stall outside Sedgefield is a must. Campsites fill up fast during school holidays — book at least a month ahead. I'll post our full route with GPS pins if anyone's interested.

Best Family-Friendly Beaches near Hermanus (with Kids)

We've tested most beaches between Hermanus and Gansbaai with two young kids. Grotto is great for swimming, but for a quieter day, try De Kelders — rock pools and very little wind. Also, the penguin colony at Stony Point is a hit. Bring sunscreen and a picnic.

Weekend Food Markets on the KZN North Coast

If you're staying between Ballito and Salt Rock, don't miss the Sunday market at Shongweni — fresh produce, local honey, and the best bunny chow. Also, the Thursday evening market at Umhlanga has great live music. I'll add a list of stalls worth visiting.
